FAQ


What is the cost of a custom photography session? $149……A studio photography session with your pet is $149, please add an additional $49 per each additional pet you would like photographed.   The session fee is required to be paid in full to reserve your selected date and time on our photo calendar.  The photo session fee includes our time and talent, professional editing of the images and an in-studio collaborative ordering session, as well as a gallery matted 8×10 art print of your favorite image.

What makes OH MY DOG! Photography special? Unlike most photographers, we have a dedicated pet photography studio. We are not wedding or portrait photographers that do some pet photography on the side. Our studio allows us to provide a safe and distraction free environment for your beloved pets. Also, we are lovable and we’ll do many silly things to make your pet smile for the camera.

Where is your studio? 3824 Ray St., San Diego, CA 92104, between University and North Park Way, in the heart of one of San Diego’s most frequented art districts. Please call for directions or see a map here.

What are your hours at OH MY DOG! studio? Photo sessions are by appointment only, please give us a call and we will coordinate for the perfect time spot.

We do close for lunch and the occasional day off, so give us a call before you head down. If you call and don’t speak to one of us, please leave a message and we will call you back within 24 hours.

What if I want myself, my family or my other pet[s] in the pictures? No problem at all.  There is a $49 additional charge per additional pet. Humans are welcome to sit in on a few of the pictures at no charge. Check out our “Yappy Feet” gallery for cute footwear ideas!

Do you offer location sessions at my home, the beach or at the park? We specialize in studio portraiture. The type of photographs we create are really only possible with the use of controlled lighting and the distraction-free environment our studio provides.

Can we get the digital files? Absolutely!  We sell retouched image files in high resolution. They are available in a set or individually. 

What if my pet won’t behave? Your dog or cat is more cooperative than you think. We know all the tricks and have loads of patience. We will work with you to figure out a strategy to make the session fun and relaxing for your pet. We have yet to meet a pet we could not photograph. Your dog or cat will be wonderful!

How long will my session take? Most sessions run between 30 to 60 minutes. Sometimes more, sometimes less. It depends on the dog and the day. We never rush you. We take plenty of breaks for water, snuggling, playing and sniffing.

When do I get to see my pictures? You will view them the same day. It takes about an hour to process images. That is just enough time to take a walk or have some lunch. We can recommend five or six pet-friendly restaurants within two blocks of our studio.

How long before my prints are ready to take home? Usually about three to four weeks. We can do a rush order if you have a special occasion. We are also happy to arrange shipping if it is more convenient.

Do you have parking?  Street parking is limited, however the North Park Garage is located one block west of our studio at 3829 29th St., San Diego, CA 92104. Parking costs $1 an hour, with $5 maximum for the day. Evenings cost $5.

How does you sitting fee/retainer work? Because we need to schedule our appointments ahead of time to keep our pets safe and happy, we require a non-refundable sitting fee/retainer to be paid in advance. We are happy to help you reschedule your photo shoot to a more convenient time in the event that you can’t make it to the date we have set.

What if I have paid my sitting fee/retainer and I have to reschedule my appointment? We understand that stuff happens.  If your sitting is rescheduled at least 24 hours before your sitting, there is no service charge. There is a $50 service charge for any session rescheduled within the 24 hour window of your scheduled session.
